Arame with onions




1 medium onion
2 teaspoons roasted sesame oil
1 tablespoon dried arame
2 tablespoons soy sauce
Roasted sesame seeds for garnish

Chop the onion finely and sauté in the sesame oil for 5 minutes.
Rinse the arame in a sieve. Place the rinsed arame on top of the sautéed onion in the pan and add water to just cover the onions. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat and add a teaspoon of soy sauce. Simmer, covered, for 40-50 minutes.
Add the rest of the soy sauce and simmer for a further 15-20 minutes.
Stir, and boil off any remaining liquid.
Garnish with roasted sesame seeds.
